Mahatma Mandir Convention & Exhibition Centre is a large convention and exhibition centre in Sector 13 of Gandhinagar, designed to host national and international summits, trade shows and cultural events. Architecturally, it combines modern conference facilities with landscaped spaces, sculpture gardens and features inspired by the life and values of Mahatma Gandhi. Vast halls with high capacities, plenary spaces, meeting rooms and exhibition areas make it one of India’s prominent convention venues. The complex often serves as the main venue for the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit and other high-profile gatherings, giving it a distinctive “business diplomacy” character. For casual visitors, the appeal lies in its monumental scale, public plazas and visual references to Gandhi and the freedom struggle, especially when explored together with Dandi Kutir across the road.
About this place
History & highlights
Construction of Mahatma Mandir began around 2010, spearheaded by the Government of Gujarat to create a world-class convention centre in the state capital. It was conceived both as a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and as infrastructure to support large investor summits such as Vibrant Gujarat. The initial phases were inaugurated in the early 2010s, and subsequent expansions added more halls and facilities. Since then, Mahatma Mandir has hosted multiple editions of Vibrant Gujarat and numerous national conferences, cementing its role as a key economic and political meeting point in western India.
