Devi Talab Mandir is a prominent Hindu temple complex in Jalandhar, centred around an ancient pond (talab) and a modern main shrine dedicated to Goddess Durga. The campus has multiple shrines, a replica of the Amarnath cave and areas used for large havans and religious gatherings. During Navratri and other festivals, thousands of devotees visit, and the complex becomes one of the liveliest spiritual places in the Doaba region.
About this place
History & highlights
The talab itself is believed to be several hundred years old, with a Devi shrine existing on its banks long before modern Jalandhar expanded around it. In the 20th century, the temple was rebuilt and expanded, adding new halls and structures while preserving the sacred pond. It is now counted among Punjab’s important Shakti temples, often mentioned alongside Durgiana Temple and other major Devi shrines in the state.
