Ashapurni Temple is a popular city temple in Pathankot dedicated to Goddess Ashapurni, regarded as a fulfiller of wishes. The shrine has a colourful façade and inner sanctum where devotees offer coconuts, sweets and chunri, especially on Navratri and other auspicious days. For visitors doing a “temple circuit” in Pathankot, Ashapurni Mandir is usually combined with nearby Kali Mata, Shani Dev and Laxmi Narayan temples.
About this place
History & highlights
The shrine began as a smaller local Devi temple and gradually expanded as devotees’ faith in the goddess’s “asha poori karne wali” powers grew. With Pathankot’s development as a gateway town between Punjab, Himachal and Jammu & Kashmir, the temple saw more pilgrims and travellers stopping for darshan. Travel and tourism sites now list it among the top attractions in and around Pathankot, cementing its status as a key urban temple.
