Forest Research Institute popularly known as FRI is a premier institution for research,education, and training in the field of forestry and natural reasources management.The institute was established in1906 and covers a massive campus of around 450 hectares.One of the most striking features of the FRI is its architecture. It is blend of Greco-Roman and colonial styles buildings which give it a unique apperance.The most prominent structure on the campus is the Main Building, which is a red brick building with a central dome that rises to a height of around 55 meters.The FRI campus is not only a center of excellence for research and education but also a very popular tourist destination in the capital city of Uttarakhand.
