The Mall of Amritsar is the city’s largest modern shopping and entertainment hub, located on the Grand Trunk Road towards Jalandhar. Opened in 2009 as Alpha One Mall, the project was developed by Alpha G Group to bring large-format organised retail to Amritsar. Later it was rebranded as Mall of Amritsar and is now part of the Nexus portfolio, with about 0.5 million sq ft of leasable area and 170+ stores. The mall reflects how Amritsar has evolved beyond pilgrimage and old bazaars into a modern urban centre where tourists often combine temple visits with branded shopping and multiplex entertainment.
