Star Monument, Dinod

About this place

Star Monument is a striking, star-shaped white structure set inside the beautifully landscaped Radhaswami Satsang Bhawan complex at Dinod, about 12 km from Bhiwani. The building stands like a geometric crystal in the middle of gardens, fountains, pathways and a meditation hut where devotees sit in silence. Its hexagonal-pyramidal form, mirror-smooth marble surfaces and the absence of internal pillars give it a very modern, futuristic look, making it a popular photo spot as well as a spiritual destination. The peaceful lawns around the monument offer a quiet break for travellers on the Bhiwani side of Haryana.

History & highlights

The monument is the samadhi sthal of Param Sant Tarachand Ji Maharaj, lovingly called Bade Maharaj Ji, the 5th spiritual head of the Radhaswami Satsang at Dinod. Construction of this unique star-shaped structure was completed in just about four years under the guidance of his successor. Its name “Star Monument” reflects both the star-like geometry and the word Tara (“star”) from the guru’s name. Over time, the samadhi and the surrounding satsang complex have grown into a major centre for Radhaswami followers, drawing visitors from many states for satsangs, spiritual retreats and annual gatherings, and turning Dinod into a notable faith-tourism stop in Bhiwani district.
