Zakir Husain Rose Garden.Asia’s largest rose garden, spread over about 30 acres with ~50,000 rose bushes and around 1,600 varieties. Neat lawns, walking paths, fountains and labelled rose beds make it perfect for evening strolls and photography, especially when the roses are in full bloom. It connects easily with nearby attractions like Sector 16 ground, Leisure Valley and the museum complex.

Established in 1967 and named after President Dr. Zakir Husain, the garden was created under the guidance of Chandigarh’s first chief commissioner M.S. Randhawa. It was planned both as a display of rose diversity and as a major green lung. The annual Rose Festival with flower competitions, cultural shows and food stalls has grown into a big city event that attracts thousands of visitors every spring.
