G Mall developed from the need for a localised mall-style complex as Haldwani expanded beyond its old core. The Dahariya–Badi Mukhani belt turned into a dense residential corridor with schools, coaching centres and apartments, but people still had to travel to central Haldwani for a mall experience. Developers created G Mall as a compact multi-tenant shopping centre rather than a single supermarket. In a few years it became a known landmark in that zone, and properties are now advertised as “near G Mall”, showing how this relatively new complex has become a retail anchor for the neighbourhood.
